General returns and exchanges

Contact us at enquiries@thebikefitter.cc if you wish to discuss the return or exchange of a product purchased from us. Proof of purchase must be presented when returning an item. Return periods are outlined below:

  • Full-priced items may be returned up to 30 days after purchase for a refund or exchange

  • Sale items may be returned within 14 days for exchange only

  • 'Final sale' items are not eligible to be returned or exchanged unless faulty.

Returns must be unused and undamaged or 'as new'. We may request a photo of the product to prove that it is in acceptable condition before agreeing to the return. All original tags and packaging must be included with the return. In some cases a test fitment and short ride is OK, however, a few weeks on your trainer or in local bunch rides, a gravel adventure or a couple of weekend crits - not so good. If in doubt, contact us at enquiries@thebikefitter.cc before you test the product to see if that will affect your ability to return it for a refund or exchange. If we do agree to accept the product despite it not meeting the 'as new' criteria, we reserve the right to charge a restocking fee.

The Bike Fitter reserves the right to refuse the return request for products returned without prior approval, not in their original condition, that have been modified by the user, have been used for a purpose or in a manner not consistent with manufacturer's instructions, are damaged other than as a result of manufacturing fault, or lost in transit. So remember to package the item securely. We recommend reusing the same packaging it came in and ensuring original transit labels are removed or hidden. Better for the environment. Better for you. Purchasing insurance with your parcel carrier is also a good idea.

Note that we are not a returns 'agent' for the brands we sell. We will only accept returns or exchanges on products that have been purchased from us. If you did not purchase from us you will need to contact the store from which you purchased the product, or the brand's local agent.

We do not provide prepaid return labels. You will be responsible for arranging the return and the cost of the return once your return has been approved. You can return the product to our premises yourself if you prefer, but please contact us first to arrange a convenient time. If you fail to return the product in what we consider to be a reasonable time we may refuse to receive the product and cancel the return. You may then create a new return request if you still wish to return the product.

All gift cards are non-refundable.

Faulty products and warranty returns

This warranty return policy applies to products purchased from thebikefitter.cc or in person at our premises. The Bike Fitter will honour its warranty obligations for the duration of the manufacturer's warranty period or for the minimum statutory period under Australian Consumer Law should any ambiguity exist.

If you believe the product you have received is faulty, you must contact us at enquiries@thebikefitter.cc as soon as you identify the fault - preferably upon receipt of the order - so that we can assist you as quickly as possible. DO NOT continue to use the product after you have identified a fault as this may be dangerous.

Please include photos of the product that clearly show the fault, a description of the issue you are experiencing and the order or invoice number for the purchase of the product. We cannot deem a product to be faulty if it has been returned without prior communication to describe the issue you are experiencing. Proof of purchase must be presented when returning an item.

The Bike Fitter reserves the right to refuse the return request for products returned without prior approval, not in their original condition, that have been modified by the user, have been used for a purpose or in a manner not consistent with manufacturer's instructions, are damaged other than as a result of manufacturing fault, or lost in transit.

Note that we are not a warranty 'agent' for the brands we sell. We will only accept warranty returns for products that have been purchased from us. If you did not purchase from us you will need to contact the store from which you purchased the product, or the brand's local agent.
